The drawing above is a detail of the show garden, The Garden of Tranquility,
designed by Marie Hastie, student, Dundee College.
The Garden of Tranquillity is to offer a place of serenity within the grounds of Roxburghe House, Dundee, a purpose built NHS hospice, after its debut as a show garden at Gardening Scotland this year. The garden is designed by Marie Hastie, student of the NQ Botanics Programme and built by the students of the horticultural department, Dundee College and is sponsored by Acheson & Glover (A&G).
Trellis and Dundee College students and staff will be on hand to talk about the therapeutic benefits of the garden at the show. The garden will have interpretational signage and materials available explaining how therapeutic gardening activities can be used to enhance everyone’s lives. After Gardening Scotland the garden will be dismantled and elements of the garden design will be used in the Roxburghe House garden.
