Community Woodlands Association - Plain English for Funding Applications Monday 13th May 2013 - 9.30am - 4.30pm

Improve your grant applications, reports, letters and other documents.  Learn to write simply so that you can communicate efficiently.  Make your grant applications stand out.
Synopsis: This one day workshop will explore the benefits and techniques of using plain English when applying for funds.  Delegates will work with their own real life application examples; putting their new skills into practice with the support and guidance of our tutor Joyce Falkner
Who: The workshop is aimed at anyone who is applying for funding to support their project and is seeking advice and encouragement. Including; individuals who wish to learn more, and /or are interested in working with community groups to raise funds, and those in national or local government who work to support the sector.
On the day: there will be some practical work involved.  Bring your own laptop, grant application forms, or other documents to work on.

Cost: This event is FREE to Community Woodlands Association groups and their members.  This event is FREE to members of Development Trust Association Scotland, Federation of City Farms and City Gardens, Reforesting Scotland and other small Scottish Land Based charities.  Individual CWA members - £25 fee is payable by cheque when booking.  Non CWA groups / members - £50 fee is payable by cheque when booking.
 


A Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid will take place in Dundee on Saturdays 11th and 18th May 2013.
This 12 hour course, which takes a similar approach to general first aid, is designed to teach participants the skills to help someone with a mental health problem. The course is designed for everyone, no matter what their background or experience
It is an interesting course that includes different activities, films, discussions and even some fun and laughter. Participants receive an NHS Health Scotland certificate of attendance and a colourful and interesting manual to take away with them at the end.
The course is just £50 per participants for the full course, which includes the certificate, manual, all handouts, materials, and refreshments.
