Part-Time Community Project Worker - Lochend, Edinburgh
Carr-Gomm Scotland is a person-centred organisation that supports people to lead their lives safely and to do the things they want to do: in day-to-day living, in planning for the future and in realising dreams.

Working in partnership with a specialist community gardening facilitator the Community Project Worker will undertake outreach work to enable and support people to participate in the garden. The focus will be on engaging people with disabilities, isolated individuals and council tenants to become involved in the garden.
This two year project is initially funded to run from August 2011 until 31 March 2012; we are continuing to seek funding for the second phase of the project.

Growing Communities Scotland

We are looking to recruit two freelance fieldworkers, to support community and therapeutic gardens in Scotland.‘Growing Communities in Scotland’ is a Big Lottery-funded partnership between Trellis, the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens and the Allotments Regeneration Initiative.

We are ideally looking for:
One fieldworker with specific garden design skills from the Dundee, Perth and Kinross or Fife areas
A second fieldworker with income generation and fund raising experience, ideally based in the Highlands.
The rate of pay is £125 per day , based on a 7.5-hour working day. Payment will be made on submission of an invoice, sent to the Fieldwork Co-ordinator to approve. You are responsible for paying your own national insurance contributions and income tax, and will complete annual tax returns.

Centre of Health and Well-being (CHWB) in Edinburgh seeks proposals from individuals or organisations, to deliver its Laughter Therapy programme.  This project requires a suitably qualified individual / organisation to develop, disseminate and test new tools associated with laughter therapy, in order to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals living in Edinburgh and the Lothians.  The successful applicant will be required to work closely with a range of organisations including public sector, social enterprise, community and voluntary groups, and other organisations that could impact the programme.

Shettleston Community Growing Project  Job advert: Project Co-ordinator/Facilitator

Shettleston Community Growing Project (SCGP) is a community-led organisation that is working in partnership with Shettleston Housing Association and Glasgow City Council to develop and manage a community allotment site in the East End of Glasgow. The SCGP has recently been awarded funding from the Climate Challenge Fund and now wishes to recruit a member of staff to take the project forward.

The Project Co-ordinator/Facilitator will be the sole member of staff of this new project and will play a key role in establishing the community allotment site, guiding its development as a valuable community resource and promoting it to the wider community.  Applicants will have experience of gardening and food growing, ideally in an allotment environment, and will have knowledge of and commitment to sustainable environmental practices. Also required, is the ability to work with and share that knowledge and experience with a diverse range of individuals and groups, including children and young people. The post holder will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure.

 Salary: £27,000 per annum pro rata (£13,500)

Hours: 17.5 hours per week (days and hours to be agreed but will include some evening and weekend working)
