What a summer it has been! From the dry month of June to the wettest July, we've had a huge variation in the weather. Our gardens and outdoor spaces are thriving with the warm, wet weather - but it does mean gardening in between showers. It's been a busy couple of months here at Trellis HQ, with lots of events and activities taking place. We manned the Plant Creche at Scone Palace Garden Fair and what a success it was. Over 5,000 people attended and the Plant Creche was jam-packed with hundreds of beautiful plant purchases. In early July, we were invited to attend the official opening of the Wellbeing Garden at HMP Dumfries. Over the last 12 months, Trellis Project Advisor Joan, worked with a cohort of prisoners and staff, facilitating their learning and practical involvement in the design and build process. Joan worked alongside offenders as they made progress with the sketch plan, hard landscaping, soil preparation, plant selection and planting. It was great to see the garden come to life and celebrate the success of the project. Read on to find out more about our various projects and work. |
