Outreach Coordinator
Organisation:
Lothlorien Therapeutic Community
Job Description:

Lothlorien is a therapeutic community near the village of Corsock. Set in 17 acres of woodlands, gardens and meadows, for over 40 years Lothlorien has demonstrated the value of organic gardening and nature based therapeutic activities to support people recovering from mental illness.

We are now looking for an Outreach Coordinator to develop a pilot project from our quiet rural site in south west Scotland.

This exciting new role is for 15 hours per week and involves both working remotely and being at Lothlorien Community in person as required.  Building on the recent scoping study led by Propagate ‘Nature Connection at Lothlorien’, this role will take forward some of the ideas and recommendations from the report.

These include: external activity providers for the community, workshops for residents and the local community in nature and land based topics, developing a social prescribing programme, and building partnerships and collaborations with other organisations.

The role is currently funded by the Glenkens and District Trust for a 6 month pilot period. There may be a possibly to extend both hours and length of contract if funding allows. One of the duties of the role holder will be to find additional resourcing to continue the project.
