Aiming to provide a safe and supportive green space environment, Over Rankeilour Walled Garden has been open to volunteers since June 2022. We run twice weekly volunteer sessions in the 2.5 acre walled garden and are open to all. We receive some informal referrals from NHS organisations and third sector groups and are listed with Fife Voluntary Action and Trellis Scotland.

We are looking for a new volunteer co-ordinator to lead the twice weekly sessions alongside support from the current team. We are ideally looking for someone with experience in therapeutic horticulture and gardening, confident in managing groups of up to 10 volunteers. The role will involve organising and supporting volunteers in the day to day activities of the garden. Alongside flower, fruit and vegetable growing, we are also slowly restoring the 200 year old garden and so continue to create new areas and plan future developments. We organise a number of craft activities in addition and there is plenty of scope within the role to develop individual interests within the garden. We are a small project in its infancy looking to expand and improve upon what we are currently offering, so a new team member has a real opportunity to make their mark on this project.

The position, currently funded by the Fife Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund, is available from October 2024. The current hours are 9.30am - 1.30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays year round. There may be the possibility to extend these hours going forward into 2025.
