Welcome to our Christmas newsletter. It's been another busy year here at Trellis HQ and we are looking forward to our festive break. 

We have lots of exciting plans in the pipeline for 2025, including the return of our Annual Conference, and we look forward to sharing these with you in the New Year. In the meantime, I'm delighted to tell you about our newly launched Trellis membership. As we approach the end of the year, we wanted to take a moment to extend our heartfelt thanks to you for your incredible support of Trellis throughout 2024. Fundraising for charities is tougher than ever at the moment. We are working hard to keep our services properly resourced so we can continue helping all the people who rely on us. But there is so much more we’d like to do, from pilot projects at GP practices to fulfilling our ambition to see amazing gardening programmes bringing joy in every care home. This Christmas, if you are considering giving a gift to charity, we’d be delighted if you could support our work. Trellis Wreath Workshops

We were delighted to run our first ever Wreath making Workshops earlier in December.

Project Advisor Joan ran the workshops which were a great success. Everyone had a wonderful time getting crafty with us and creating some festive cheer to take home.

We're already planning more of them for next year!

Have a Go: Gardening Activities Training

Our online Winter Unit opened on 1st December 2024.

It’s here, all the winter inspiration you’ve been waiting for. We encourage you to enrol - especially if you have tried our Live Demos and want to develop your activity repertoire and confidence and gain further CPD credits. No prior knowledge required.

Our affordable online training offers a practical approach to learning, at your own pace, equipping you with the skills to create and engage your clients in meaningful gardening activities, beneficial to their social, physical and mental health.

Professional Development Forum Code of Ethics

The UK Association for Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (ASTH) operational team have completed work on a draft Code of Ethics. This Code is designed to support the work of practitioners involved in therapeutic horticulture and is available on our website.

It will serve as one of the key guiding documents for those joining the accredited register, which will be maintained by the ASTH. The Code is the result of years of hard work and collaboration between staff from Trellis and Thrive, volunteers and members of the Professional Development Forum. You can find it here.
