Ayrshire Cancer Support Centre, Kilmarnock.
Trellis Project Advisor, Joan Wilson, hosted a Seed Sowing workshop at Ayrshire Cancer Support in Kilmarnock.
The Centre is so welcoming with large window doors opening out to the courtyard garden which is showing signs of desperately wanting to burst into Spring.
8 centre users and 1 centre volunteer joined in the seed sowing workshop. We sowed windowsill crops of peashoots and cut and come again salad leaf. And for a bit of colour and flavour interest, we also sowed edible flowers – borage, calendula and nasturtium.
Lots of engagement and relaxed conversation around the table.
We receive some lovely feedback from attendees:
‘This has been a very relaxing morning’.
‘I’ve actually forgotten most of the things that I walked in the door with’.
‘Nice to do things together’.
‘My canary is going to love me even more’.
‘I didn’t want to come today but I’m really glad that I made myself as I’ve turned into a bit of hermit. I’m so glad that I came as I’ve really enjoyed myself’
