Adaptive Tip Get your potatoes ready for planting by ‘chitting’ them – leaving them out in daylight to sprout shoots. So, for easy chitting, pop your potatoes in an open egg box on a windowsill - stops them rolling off and the shoots getting damaged, and makes them easily portable.
Look out for the symbols indicating which activities build or suit those with specific skills - featured in the Year-Round Gardening Activities book.
Extension Activities Grow a rainbow of vegetables outdoors in containers and bags e.g. carrots , beetroot, peas, spinach, cut and come again lettuce, radish. Then find lovely ways to eat them!
