Cyrenians has worked with NHS Lothian to establish two hospital community gardens: one in Morningside, Edinburgh and one in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian.
Each garden was developed to offer hospital patients, staff and visitors, as well as people and groups from the local community, the chance to take part in a range of gardening and nature-based activities.
We are looking for a highly experienced garden coordinator, with the ability to take forward an inclusive vision for the Royal Edinburgh community gardens. Central to the role will be a passion for community gardening and developing sustainable gardening practices, as well as experience of leading infrastructure developments. Recruiting and supporting volunteer gardeners will be required, as well as an imaginative approach to involving volunteers and service users in decision-making.
You should have experience of working with vulnerable people, a creative approach, and the ability to demonstrate our values of compassion, respect, integrity and innovation in the work that you do.
