The purpose of the Garden Assistant team is mainly to open/ close the Gardens for the public and ensure that visitors have a safe, enjoyable experience. The team members cover shift work, predominantly lone working, during daylight hours at weekends. Whilst working your shift, you will help to maintain the beauty and integrity of the environment and complete gardening tasks throughout the year. The successful candidate must be available to regularly work during these times.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide a friendly and engaging presence in the Gardens during weekends, and occasionally at other times.
Help maintain and preserve the plant collection and monitor property and art installations for visitors to enjoy.
Support public events and support visitors who hire our indoor and outdoor spaces.
Use your initiative to prioritize tasks and manage your time effectively as you work independently.
This role is predominantly outdoors in all weathers, and requires a level of self-motivation and responsibility as Garden Assistants are the only staff member on site. Due to the flexible nature of the schedule for Garden Assistant’s shifts, responsive communication is essential.
