Blooming Gardeners is a thriving therapeutic gardening project in Easter Ross which promotes the health and well-being of its clients (gardeners) through involvement in horticulture. The gardeners have a range of learning disabilities and neurodiverse conditions.
The Horticultural Trainers are key to the success of the project, creating a happy, secure environment for the gardeners and volunteers, while guiding and supporting them in plant production, garden maintenance, soft landscaping and fruit and vegetable growing. They make use of eco-friendly practices and encourage the gardeners to understand and care for the environment.
We hope to recruit another part time Horticultural Trainer to join the team. We are looking for someone who has horticultural knowledge and expertise, together with enthusiasm for working with disadvantaged groups. The ability to support and communicate with people with additional needs is essential.
The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the other Horticultural Trainers in the practical gardening activities and planning, helping Blooming Gardeners to maintain high standards of service and support to its gardeners, staff and volunteers.
The Horticultural Trainers also engage with the trustees in strategic planning and development and in ensuring Blooming Gardeners meets its aims and obligations.
