I have been involved in the: design, planning, management and fundraising on a wide variety of greenspaces and gardens for over 30 years. Currently working as a self-employed gardener working with a variety of clients.
I have 5 years supported horticultural experience working with: adults with moderate learning disabilities, some on the autistic spectrum and special needs, for Piccadilly Garden Support Services Lancashire. Work alongside mental health service users developing a garden for the Highland charity SPIRIT in central Inverness. I have been involved in greenspace development and gardening opportunities at NHS Raigmore Hospital, Inverness and worked on a market garden social enterprise at Inverness High School.
I was previously on the board of UK Community Composting Network for 4 years (now merged with Social Farms and Gardens). I’m presently on the board of Knocknagael Ltd a charity aiming to establish a green growing hub for Inverness and also a committee member for Grow Nairn involved in establishing a community supported market garden in Nairn.
I have a MA in Landscape Architecture and I have been involved in the design of a variety of community gardens. Including Moniack Mhor Scotland’s Creative Writing Centre and was interviewed on BBC TV Beechgrove Garden about the garden.
