I have always loved nature and being outdoors. I have an MA in Fine Art and a postgraduate Diploma of Education in Primary Teaching, however I just didn't want to be constrained by four walls! So I became a Forest School Leader (level 3) and Early Years Teacher. I was part of the team that set up Vogrie Outdoor Nursery and currently work in the Scottish Borders supporting a variety of settings and delivering training for practitioners.
I believe strongly in nature pedagogy and am an advocate for open-ended, loose parts play. As well as being in wilder spaces, I think it's so important for children to experience planting and growing to understand the world around them. You will usually find me with my own children either in the woods or at the seaside!
