The Monday Men meet at Centrestage weekly, and funnily enough, on a Monday.  Every participant of the group is living with dementia and their weekly sessions are ably facilitated and supported by Jim, Lawrence, Morag and Jim Bob. The men engage in a wealth of wellbeing activities including singing, gym workouts and drum playing.  Trellis has joined in their programme bringing nature connection and gardening activity into their programme repertoire and will deliver 4 Flourish gardening activity workshops over the coming months.

Joan facilitated the 1st workshop last week with the group sowing annual seeds, and potting on sunflower, cosmos and marigold seedlings. The workshop literally flew by with lots of entertaining chat and engagement by all.  So much so, Joan forgot to take photos of the group in action.

At Trellis we are genuinely passionate about the work we do, and when we get fabulous feedback, it really does inspire us to connect and deliver more.  Jim Baird, Monday Men Group Coordinator shared this super feedback with us:

The session for the boys was excellent, we saw engagement with the familiarity of the process from gents who tend towards agitation and restlessness during other activities, and a real sense of satisfaction at what they had achieved.  The tactile nature of the process, the calibrated pace and the humour from Joan were huge assets for the successful outcomes.
