After noticing the lack of any books offering advice on plastic in gardening, we decided to do something about it. Being connected to so many experienced gardeners, both people in the horticulture trade as well as home gardeners, we had a wealth of expertise to call on. Fiona also interviewed pot manufacturers and scientists who study plastic pollution of the environment to get the inside story on horticultural plastics and what we can all do to help address the problem.

All proceeds from the sale of the book go to support the work of Trellis in helping people to improve their wellbeing through gardening.

“An excellent well-researched reference and the first book on how to reduce the use of plastics in horticulture. The author offers practical solutions to one of today’s key environmental challenges for gardeners.” Ken Cox, Author of Woodland Gardening, Garden Plants for Scotland, Fruit and Vegetables for Scotland.

“…full of practical advice for recycling, reusing and avoiding plastics….makes the reader feel motivated rather than guilty. I definitely recommend this book to talk you through (reducing plastic in your garden).” Abigail Shepherd, The Perthshire Magazine, February 2020.

“One of the attractive elements of this ‘bible’ is the end-of-chapter summaries of dos and don’ts…this book certainly hits the spot.” Jim McColl, The Press and Journal, January 2020.

“…a realistic blueprint tempered with a message of optimism…. An excellent reference book which is easy to understand and gives the reader numerous low-cost and DIY ideas.” John MacLennan, The Caledonian Gardener, January 2020.
