Ruth Nay - Art in the Garden Drawing and Printing

A range of drawing methods to use when working with people and plants including rubbings monoprints. Using gathered material to print from. Inking up plates and making intaglio drawings using inked up plates ….. the image comes out as a soft black line where you have pressed.

We will concentrate on using what is at hand in the garden and simple everyday materials. You don`t need any previous experience in drawing or printing and you will come away with a range of simple and immediately engaging techniques. We tried this in the garden at Forfar Open Garden and were mesmerised by the simplicity of image making at its most direct and enjoyed the tactile experience of handling plants.
