Horticultural therapy (HT) has the merits of being a non-pharmacological intervention and easily accessible in the community, even in densely populated metropolis. This integrative oral review paper discusses evidence on the uses and benefits of NBI as a vehicle to promote health and wellbeing for people.

Claudia Lai is an Honorary Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the VinUniversity, Vietnam. She focuses on interventional and implementation research. She became interested in horticultural therapy in 2009 and has since collaborated with clinicians and researchers on projects and research. She was inducted into International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame in 2018. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing since 2015 and awarded as a Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing by the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence in 2021. Presently, she is an Associate Editor of the Wiley journal Research in Nursing & Health, published by the Southern Nursing Research Society under the auspice of the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She is among the world's top 2% cited scientist in own field (single recent year impact) and also named in the database of top-cited scientists in career-long impact.
