Our Aims are:
- To advance health and wellbeing by facilitating access to growing opportunities and contributing to improved diet through increased access to fresh local produce in a natural environment
- To promote environmental improvement including protecting and increasing biodiversity above and below the soil by adopting and promoting environmentally sustainable practices.
- To advance education and skills, particularly related to food (growing cooking, eating) and by developing and hosting land-based educational programmes and courses such as gardening and environmental
activities.
We are a community growing charity, focusing on food growing and horticultural activities. The role will involve the planning of engaging sessions aimed at maximising the number of people involved in the project.
We’d particularly like to hear from people with experience of delivering community food growing or horticulture activities and working with community groups and volunteers in the delivery of practical work.
Main Duties
- Building Management.
- Project administration and maintaining financial records.
- Volunteer Management & Co-ordination.
- Administration support of a community-supported agriculture system to provide veg box deliveries.
- Administration and co-ordination of timetable, workshops and events.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure all work across the site runs smoothly and meets the charities objectives.
- Support active engagement through the appropriate use of the media, posters, leaflets and outreach work.
- Continue to build links with other groups and agencies
- Keep records and write reports and evaluations relevant for funders
- Attend relevant meetings as required.
- Co-ordinate regular team update reports for committee meetings.
- Responsible for assisting the committee to secure adequate funding for staffing and associated costs of the Project.
- Together with the Committee ensure that all policy and procedures are in line with current regulations.

KNOWLEDGE
- Good general education
(Advanced Highers/A-Level
equivalent) and/or 3
years minimum relevant work experience relating to the role.
- Understanding of the climate and ecological emergency.

- ● Knowledge and understanding of urban community gardening.
- ● Food hygiene certification.
- ● Risk assessments and accident reporting.
