This training programme offers a solid introduction to therapeutic horticulture for anyone running or developing garden‑based wellbeing activities. Through guided learning, practical examples and supportive discussion, you’ll explore how gardening can be used safely and effectively to support people’s health and wellbeing. Whether you’re new to the field or looking for ways to strengthen your existing practice, this course builds your understanding, boosts confidence and provides a strong foundation for delivering therapeutic gardening activities.

The course has been created for professionals and volunteers working in settings such as:

  • Health e.g. nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, link workers with an interest in Green Health
  • Care e.g. managers, care staff, activity co-ordinators
  • Education e.g.  teachers, classroom assistants, those specialising in additional and Special Educational Needs support
  • Community and Specialist support groups e.g. mental health, dementia, homelessness, cancer support, welfare support
